Knitted Wire Mesh
High-Performance Mist Eliminators & Coalescers for Gas-Liquid Separation
Engineered Loop Structure for Elasticity, High Void Volume, and Gas Management
Knitted wire mesh is a specialized mesh structure formed by interlooping metal wires in a continuous knitting process, similar to textile knitting. Unlike woven wire mesh, which features rigid intersections, knitted wire mesh creates a flexible, compressible, and highly porous structure with interconnected loops. Knitted wire mesh is a versatile material known for its durability and unique structure. It is widely used in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and filtration due to its excellent mechanical properties and high-performance capabilities. The material is typically supplied in rolls, pads, or custom-fabricated components, and can be combined with other materials to form composite structures for demanding industrial environments.
Key Features of Knitted Wire Mesh
- High strength.
- Corrosion and rust resistance.
- Acid and alkali resistance.
- High temperature resistance.
- Soft and won’t hurt the mechanical parts.
- Durable and long service life.
- Good shielding performance.
- High filtration efficiency.
- Excellent cleaning capacity.
Types of Knitted Wire Mesh
Wire Type: Round & Flat Wires
Knitted mesh can be manufactured from either round wire or flat wire. Round wire knitted mesh is the most widely used type, while flat wire knitted mesh provides a larger contact area and higher separation efficiency.
Strand Type: Single-strand & Multi-strand
Knitted mesh can be produced from single-strand or multi-strand wire.
Single-strand knitted mesh features a simple structure, is economical and practical, and is widely used in general applications. Multi-strand knitted mesh offers a larger surface area and higher strength, making it suitable for heavy-duty working conditions, such as filtration and separation processes in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Surface Type: Flattened & Ginned
Flattened surface is a standard surface type for general-purpose applications. Once the knitted mesh is fully produced, it is processed with specialized ginning technology to form ginning patterns of various shapes, widths, and depths. This type of mesh can be used in a wide range of industrial applications.
Processing of Knitted Wire Mesh

Folding & layering
This technique is used when, pads of material are required, such as in kitchen extraction units or grease filters.

Coiling & Compressing
For customers who require knitted wire mesh in extended lengths or who wish to perform their own post-knit processing, knitted wire mesh can be coiled for ease of storage, distribution, and application.

Stitching
Layers of knitted mesh are placed one on top of another and then encapsulated, either with support grids or within a channel frame and weld-mesh arrangement.
